Le Magnifique

Building a legend

The Pittsburgh Penguins wanted a way to immortalize the magnificent player/owner Mario Lemeiux with a larger than life statue. Le Magnifique is a symbol of strength and beauty that honors the lifetime achievements of the Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux. I partnered with master sculptor Bruce Wolfe and the Penguins on the design of the statue and the official merchandise. Pittsburgh is a hockey town and it was my job to make sure that all the details were right.

Statue Identity

Once the statue was complete I created a process book that gave the fans an inside look at the thrilling journey of creating the statue. I was also contracted to create the official logo and merchandise that was both sold in stores and handed out at the private luncheon following the ceremony.
